Jack Bruce Specs

Up for auction is a 1964 Gibson EB-3 Bass Guitar in Cherry Red finish.  It appears to be all original. Pot codes are 6421 (21st week of 1964). There is black tape around the neck heel. I tried to peel some of it off and stopped as it would be difficult to remove.  I put a black light to the whole guitar and to the taped area (the photos are included below).  The frets are fine. It has a beautiful dark fretboard. Appears to have some nickle parts (neck pup cover, tuners, bridge/tailpiece) with also some chrome parts but just not sure.  It is missing the string mute. There are two minor cracked pickguard corners and some finger wear just above the pickguard under the high e string.  A few wear spots on the side and some minor nicks and dings on the body.  It has a great feeling neck that has some wear through the finish.  It comes with the original Gibson Hard Black Tolex Case with Yellow Lining in very good condition.

This vintage Gibson EB-3 also has the Jack Bruce specs which include the wide spaced volume and tone knobs. (I am not sure if those knobs have been replaced).  Jack Bruce made the EB-3 famous and today it is still considered a great bass to use and play.
