1973 Gibson EB-0 SG Bass!

Thunderous low end! Gibson's EB basses provided the defining sound of bassist like Jack Bruce, Mike Watt,  and Felix Pappalardi. The EB's tone is low and warm. Tons of gut shaking crunch from these basses kept them from being popular among slappers and poppers but rockers loved them. Made in the USA, these instruments are good quality and affordable on the vintage market. The body is mahogany for warm tone. The short scale laminated maple neck features a rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays. A single Gibson bass humbucker delivers huge tone. AN adjustable bridge and open geared tuners keep it rock solid. The finish is oh so 70s walnut lacquer and is set off by chrome hardware. A cool bass for not a lot of cash!

This Gibson sounds good. The first 5 frets were replaced professionally and the bass was set up with medium action. These basses don't have a contemporary feel and in my experience don't favor low action. The pickup sounds great and delivers that low blast that only an EB bass gives. A fun punk rock or 60s power trio bass. Condition wise, this one has been played. It shows scratches, dents, dings, checking and wear you would expect from a nearly 40 year old road warrior. No breaks or cracks. Bridge cover is MIA and one bridge saddle has been changed. Cool vibe. Comes in a gigbag.

This would be a great bass for anyone looking for vintage tone, vibe and feel. Lots of cool tones and unique sounds. A new Gibson SG bass will cost you $1399 in stores. Here's a vintage one with cool vibe for less. BUY IT NOW and own a cool bass.
