 This is a very nice vintage 1968 or '69 Gibson EB-2D bass guitar with original case. The serial number on both the back of the headstock and orange oval label is 9052XX (see photo). It is in original "iced tea sunburst" finish with original baritone switch. Bass is all original except one tuner (E string) has been changed. The replacement tuner is very similar to the original and uses the same mounting screw hole (see photo). Two of the bridge saddles and saddle screws are also replacements (see photo) and one tone knob may also be a replacement. That's it, everything else is all original including: finish, nut, frets, pickups, pots, solder joints, pickguard, bridge, bridge cover, strap buttons, everything. Bass is in very good condition with normal scratches, nicks, wear and lacquer checking. Pickguard is in very good condition with no chips or cracks. The rest of the plastic parts are also all in very good condition. Metal hardware is all bright and shiny with normal wear. Overall nice and very attractive. There are no cracks or breaks and no neck, heel or headstock cracks or breaks. There are some minor finish chips, and checking at the input jack (see photo) and a ding above the bass side F hole (see photo). There are some pressure marks on the back but no wear through the finish. Neck joint is tight and solid with no issues. Again, overall very nice and in very good original condition. Bass plays and sounds great. Neck is straight with very nice action and normal moderate fret wear with plenty of life. Action is currently set medium-low but can be set-up any way you prefer. Truss rod is in good working order. Bass sounds great (even with old strings). Pickups are strong. Killer tone! Tone pots were very slightly scratchy when I first tried it but cleared up mostly with a few turns. Original chipboard case shows wear and tear. Case is missing the small interior storage compartment and the handle is an old replacement that is attached (to the original brackets) with pieces of leather. Original case latches and hinges are all intact. Very nice original vintage Gibson EB-2D bass guitar in very good condition with original case! This is a wonderful old Gibson G3 bass. Made in 1982, this baby has all the power and boom you are looking for! Serial number 82722026. All original parts with gloss black body, maple neck, ebony fingerboard.  All switches and pots work great without unintended noise.  There are a few belt buckle marks on the back but nothing through the paint and two tiny marks on the front of the body, once again, very minor.  You can't even see them unless you get the light just right. More photos available on request.
The thing is in really fantastic condition for a 30 year old bass. One owner guitar.  Take it and start playing; it doesn't need a thing. Price includes original Gibson case, also in great condition.

Here is a sweet pair of creme puffs, matching mid sixties Klamazoo (By Gibson),bass and guitar.Both are in very good shape ,and play excellent.Fire engine red ,white trim,Brazilian boardsThe bass is all original and in like new shape.The neck is straight action low strung with flatwounds and 30" short scale,the frets don`t have any wear.The bass has had a slight mod, lifting one end of the tone cap  and insulating it so it doesn`t make a connection.It cleans up the tone a bit so it`s not a sound of mud.Easy restore The guitar shows some wear ,some finish has worn off the back of the neck,the guard has/is shrinking ,check the screw holes in pic.The guitar has been upgraded with a stop tail piece.Both original cases included.International  buyers please contact me prior to bidding to sort out the shipping.Thanks.... my shipping cost is an estimate if actual costs are less I will refund the difference .Thanks

This is a 1982 Black Gibson Grabber in great playing conditions. It has a 'second' stamp above the serial number. My understanding is that they did this when it had a small cosmetic blemish, but nothing wrong with the electronics or that affects the playability of the instruments at its fullest.
It's been roughed up a little bit and I tried to show the most prominent marks and scratches. The worst one is on the edge bottom of the body (picture 11). The fret board and the back of the neck are the cleanest. On the sliding pick up, if you put it on the bridge position you can see the most wear, the neck position looks pretty clean. Other than that it looks pretty rugged and rocking!
It does not come with a case, but I'll package it and insure it to make sure it gets to you in optimal conditions (therefore the shipping charges).

1972 Gibson EB3 bass guitar. The bass is in good overall condition: has buckle rash area on back and a little wear under the bridge pickup. Everything looks to be stock and in good working order, but I took pictures of every detail to be sure. Frets are good and action is nice and low. Comes with original Gibson case in fair condition (has some taped areas, but all latches work and functions great).

I am the original owner of this bass purchased in 1989 at The Bass Centre in California. I still have the receipt. It is pre-Gibson from the Basic series, and it is neck-thru, flame maple  and purple heart stringers. Pau Ferro fretboard. 34" scale and 15 mm spacing at bridge between strings. I had the frets professionally removed to make a wonderful fretless. If it still had frets, they would need to be replaced after 22 years anyways. I did not think to keep the originals however. I put up a you tube video that shows the bass up close and let's you hear it. Email me for more pics or the you tube address. It comes with the original hard shell case. The bass has one major ding on the back of the top horn that has been there for 20 years, otherwise there is VERY LITTLE wear and tear. I give you a real good look at the ding in the video. Two of the knobs have been replaced since the picture was taken. I will refund any shipping overages right away.

 Super rare and nice vintage Gibson G-3 bass guitar. Bass shows normal wear and tear for 30 years of work. This bass plays and sounds as good as any Gibson bass I've ever played. Usually Gibson basses give you that muddy Gibson bass tone but not this one. They made these basses to compete with the Fender P basses of the time. You can get some great tones out of this one. Other than the photo from the article below i have never seen another example in this candy apple red finish. I have read online that Gibson still made these basses till 1983 but they were only in the catalogue through 1980. This is one of those examples the serial dates the bass to 1982 but the pickups and pots are stamped 1978. If you are looking for a vintage Gibson G3 bass don't miss out on this unique example. Gibson G3 Bass

Solid maple or alder body, maple neck. 34 1/2 inch scale.

The Gibson G3 bass, or Grabber 3 bass, was launched in 1975, as an upgraded Grabber,
or G1. The only difference between a Grabber and a G3 is the pickup
configuration. The G3 features 3 single coil pickups wired in humbucking
configuration, whilst the Grabber, had one 'sliding' humbucker.

G3 Controls

• Forward position activates the front and middle pickups in humbucking configuration.
• The back position activates the middle and back pickup in the same manner.
• The middle position activates all three pickups for what we have coined a "buck-and-a-half".

Woods and Finishes

Like G1s, G3s were available in several finishes: ebony, natural
maple gloss (maple body), natural satin (alder body), sunburst, walnut
and wine red. It is not mentioned as being available in white in the G3 production totals.
The rare colours are walnut (40) and wine red (9). In the early 1980s,
candy apple red was another finish offered. Fretboards are maple,
rosewood, and ocasionally ebony.

The 1980s

The last price list / catalogue appearance of the G3 was in 1980, but
as is often the case with Gibson, they still made them for a little
longer. They were made at the Gibson Kalamazoo factory from 1975-1982 or
maybe later. In 1985 some G3s were stamped in the Nashville plant,
though in very small numbers, so potentially using Kalamazoo bodies and
necks.

This 1982 G-3 is unusual in having an ebony fingerboard, and Candy
Apple Red finish. This colour was being widely used at the time on the
eighties Victory basses, and was never offered on seventies instruments.
